Ironically, I did not always believe in chiropractic care. Years ago, I was sidelined by a weightlifting injury that left me unable to stand or walk properly. Faced with the daunting choice of surgery or trying something unfamiliar, I took a leap of faith and visited a chiropractor—thanks to a recommendation from a friend I played basketball with. After just one adjustment, I was not pain-free, but I could walk again. That moment changed my life and my perspective forever.
At the time, I was ten years into a successful engineering career in the missile defense industry. But when the company shut down, I was at a crossroads. I was 33, passionate about people, and loved sports. Chiropractic felt like the natural next step—a calling, not just a career.
I enrolled at Life Chiropractic University in Marietta, Georgia, one of the top programs in the country. The education was rigorous—especially courses like Biochemistry and Physiology—but incredibly rewarding. One vivid memory was having my ankle adjusted by my sports medicine professor after an injury in class. Painful? Yes. But also, a clear demonstration of how powerful chiropractic can be.
Outside the clinic, I am a family man and a proud veteran. My wife Lorraine and I have a big, beautiful blended family—seven kids and seven amazing grandchildren. Two of our sons serve in the Air Force, continuing a tradition of service. Lorraine and I were introduced by our children (they thought we would be a good match—and they were right!). We also co-own Another Broken Egg Cafe, which keeps us on our toes.
When I am not working or at the restaurant, I love playing golf, working out, and taking peaceful country drives with Lorraine. No radio, just good conversation, and the open road.
Health and wellness are not just professional values—they are a personal commitment. I get adjusted weekly, avoid soda, and fast food, and take my supplements daily. My entire family, including my grandkids, receives regular chiropractic care. After learning more about vaccines during my chiropractic education, we made informed choices for our youngest children that reflect our beliefs.
Chiropractic care, to me, is about more than just adjusting—it is about helping people take control of their health and thrive at every stage of life.
